Dear SCIRA Measurers and National Secretaries;

The International Rules Committee has released a new version of how to measure Snipe sails as well as the timing of the rule. The new measurement system conforms with the ISAF measurement system.

National Secretaries, please ensure that your national and local measurers receive a copy of these documents as well as the active sailmakers in your country.

SAILS MEASUREMENT APPLICATION TIME

1. Sails manufactured after August 1st, 2010 shall comply with the new rules and measuring system

2. from January 1st, 2011 measurement at World, Western Hemisphere and European Championship regattas shall be made following the new rules and measuring system

3. from January 1st, 2012 the existing sails produced before August 1st, 2010 and not compliant with the new dimensions and measurement system shall not be used in National and Regional Championship regattas
