Come avviene ormai in molte Classi riconosciute dall'Isaf, la Classe Snipe ha consentito il pompaggio libero sopra i 12 nodi di vento, alle andature portanti.

Questo il testo della nuova regola approvata dal Board of Governors, su richiesta dell'Isaf Technical Committee, ed inserita all'articolo 19 delle Rules of Conduct for Conducting National and International Championship Regattas:

RACING RULES OF SAILING
19    In alteration to RRS 42:
(1) The race committee may permit pumping, rocking and ooching, after starting and except on a beat to windward (change of RRS 42.2(a), RRS 42.2(b), RRS 42.2(c)). The signals will be made according to RRS P5.
(2) The Snipe Class recommends that race committees apply Rule 19.1 in winds of 12 knots and above, measured at deck level.
