Le impressioni del vincitore, l'argentino Luis Soubie.

Su un cartellone vicino al ristorante del Circolo Amici della Vela di Cervia c'era scritta una frase: "if you ever need a regatta to remind you why you sail a snipe, then attend to Piada Trophy”. Non l'ho compresa la prima volta che l'ho letta, ma quando sono sceso dal podio con in mano il mio premio e il sorriso sulla mia faccia, l'ho riletta di nuovo e l'ho capita totalmente.

Il Piada è stato tutto ciò che ognuno mi aveva descritto, ad eccezione del vento, che è stato molto meglio di quanto mi era stato detto.

E' stata un'ottima possibilità per me per incontrare vecchi amici della Classe e conoscerne di nuovi, da Paesi che non avevo mai visitato come la Croazia e la Polonia.

La Regata è stata il perfetto bilanciamento tra serious sailing e serious fun, le regate sono state perfette, lunghe e difficili, con un bel vento da 8 a 16 nodi, tutti e tre i giorni.

Il Comitato di Regata è stato perfetto e la Giuria si è annoiata! A terra, la gara di go kart è stata qualcosa di differente da fare, abbiamo avuto un'eccellente cena con il bingo sabato notte e meravigliosi premi fatti a mano per i vincitori.

In tutto è stata un'esperienza fantastica che spero di essere in grado di ripetere in futuro.

Personalmente voglio ringraziare gli amici che hanno reso tutto questo possibile, trovandoci un alloggio e una buona barca, e cioé Alberto Perdisa, Pietro Fantoni, Enrico Solerio e Giovanni Ceccarelli. Grazie ragazzi!!!

In a sign near the restaurant at Circolo Amici de la vella Cervia there was a note saying “if you ever need a regatta to remind you why you sail a snipe, then attend to Piada Trophy”.  I didn’t get it the first time a read that, but when I got down the podium with my prize in my hand and my smile in my face I read it again and I totally got into it.

Piada was everything everybody told me about it excepting the wind, wich was so much better than I was told.

It was a good chance for me to meet old friends from the class  and to make new ones, from countrys we never visited like Croatia and Poland.

The Regatta has the perfect balance between serious sailing and serious fun, the races were perfect, long and difficult, with nice 8 to 16 knots all the 3 days.

The race committee was perfect and the jury was bored ! In land, the go kart race was something different to do, we have an excellent dinner party with bingo included on Saturday night and wonderfull hand made prizes for the winners.

All in all a fantastic experience wich I hope we will be able to repeat in the future.

In a personal matter I want to thank the friends who made this possible to us, getting us home or finding us a good boat, so this is for Alberto Perdisa, Pietro Fantoni, Enrico Solerio and Giovanni Ceccarelli. Thank you guys !!!!!
