Only three days to go before the start of late entries! We are receiving a huge amount of wonderful calls. The activity in the online registrations and on our fax is frantic. It is all a bit hectic but most of all it is incredibly fun - one moment talking with a Faroe Islands archery fan and the next with the Moldavian Sports Ministry is absolutely exhilarating. By the way - now there are about 55 nationalities in the registration system!

Lists of participants

The participant response is overwhelming, but it however makes it hard to provide all the service we would like. Not least being unable to provide lists of registered participants is very unsatisfactory (mainly due to technical difficulties). We aim to publish lists on the website early next week.

Manual registrations by fax, post or e-mail

We are absolutely aware of the fact that the EMG online registrations is a difficult system unless you are used to similar systems. To handle this problem we have two manual registration forms (individual and team sports). These can be e-mailed, faxed or sent by post to the EMG office. We've mentioned it before but it is worth while reminding again - EMG 2008 is in cooperation with a hotel booking agency which has lots of rooms reserved for EMG participants. We were wrong when evaluating the demand for athletics relays. We have reconsidered and will offer 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 late in the week. Registrations/payment will be at the athletics venues.

Open Half Marathon 6th of September

Many people want to join the Open Half Marathon which is a side event and can be entered by anyone +17 years. The registration will be at www.mai.se and should open during the first week of June or send it to Malmö AI, Box 5077, 200 71 Malmö (last date 15^th of August). Also note the other two open events www.malmonordicwalking.se and www.christianloppet.se

Naturally the main reason to come to Malmö is to compete in a big international sports event but the social events and the chance to meet likeminded people from all corners of Europe is equally important to many participants. The EMG centre will be full of entertainment, food, drinks and experiences (as well as accreditation, expos and services) . Here is a short outline of the entertainment programme during EMG 2008. Note that all but two events are within the EMG centre and thus free of charge to registered participants and accompanying persons.
